User Testing Templates Starter Kit
Built from years of my real-world professional user testing experience, my kit will help you get started with user testing quickly and efficiently. With easy-to-use templates and collaborative tools, it will save you time and makes planning, running, and taking notes during sessions easier. Whether you're working alone or with a team, this kit helps you stay organized and focused on the testing process.
What is in the kit?
- A User Testing Guide Template (.docx) with an introduction and a full test script you can use as a base for your own work. Just copy past it, and change the placeholders with your own project information. There is also an example of a full script, in case you need inspiration.
- A Miro Collaborative Note-taking Board: this will help you prepare and take collaborative notes during a user testing session, directly in context (mockups of the prototype). The board comes with instructions and an example. This specifically Miro sticky notes, but also tags to help you organize the notes and the cluster feature. Please note that you do need a paying Miro account in order to import that. (instructions to import in miro)
- A Figjam Collaborative Note-taking Board: same as the Miro board, expect for Figjam. Note that there as no tags on sticky notes in Figjam at the moment, so those are individual components.(help to import in figjam)
- A User Testing Checklist (.pdf) to help you prepare and facilitate user testing sessions. This cover test preparion, before the test, begining and welcome, during the test, end of the test, for guerilla testing, face to face and remote tests.
- A User Testing Consent Form Template (.docx): same as the guide, you can fill in the blanks and use it for your own project
All the options also contain as a bonus a free User Testing Guide Help Sheet (.pdf) with advice, tips and more resources to plan, prepare and facilitate testing sessions.
